There really isn’t a reason to liveblog, no one will read it live, but I feel like playing with the new toy I found. So we’re doing it. Tune in when the conference starts all .5 of you and you can see my live blogging of a video feed of nintendo. Doesn’t that sound lame?

Well now that my excitement has died down, the Microsoft Conference wasn’t the absolute greatest, but it was pretty good. Now I know if I am going to get another console, it’s the 360. The jRPGs solidified it.

Final Fantasy XIII is not coming to the three 360s in Japan

Can’t say I’m too surprised to hear this since the 360 is doing terrible there. They probably would sell 3 copies total. But this is a ray of hope for the PS3. It will still be #2 in Japan.

Sony does have to blow our socks off tomorrow after MSs conference, they just one-upped so much of what Sony is doing, I think they’ll have to do something. Or actually release home and Little Big Planet.

Nintendo, in an effort to distract people from MS’s conference, announced WiiMotionPlus. This little baby will allow you to have 1:1 controls according to Nintendo.

“The Wii MotionPlus accessory attaches to the end of the Wii Remote and, combined with the accelerometer and the sensor bar, allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player’s arm position and orientation, providing players with an unmatched level of precision and immersion. Every slight movement players make with their wrist or arm is rendered identically in real time on the screen, providing a true 1:1 response in their game play. The Wii MotionPlus accessory reconfirms Nintendo’s commitment to making games intuitive and accessible for everyone.”

Wow. This is awesome, but should have been there day one. I can’t wait to see what devs can do with this. It’ll be shown at thier press conference tomorrow, let’s hope for more details.

So it looks like Microsoft has thrown the first blow when it comes to new console announcements. The new 60gb 360 will be released in August, and will be replacing the 20gb models. Not much new, just triple the HD space, no word on anything else. Until the stock of 20gb’s are sold out, their price will be reduced to an even $300. The new system will be $350, completely replacing the 20gb models. No word on a price reduction on the Arcade or Elite systems.
